    The Saudi Organization for Auditors and Accountants review development steps and achieving quality performance

    The professional performance quality monitor at the Saudi Organization for Auditors and Accountants, Meteb Al-Sihani, reviewed several services provided by the authority to develop the accounting and auditing professions, which revolve around qualification, supervision, and awareness, in a meeting organized by the Asharqia Chamber represented by the Women’s Empowerment Center on Wednesday 14/June/2023 under the title (Certificates and Licenses accounting professional).

    Al-Sihani said during the meeting, which was held virtually, that the Authority is a professional body concerned with pioneering and supervising the accounting and auditing professions in the Kingdom to improve and develop its practice, advancing it, monitoring the quality of its performance, developing awareness of its rules and behaviors, and enhancing its participation in serving the national economy and society.

    Accordingly, the Authority carries the message of "developing the accounting and auditing profession, upgrading its services, and contributing to enhancing confidence in the national economy," and adopts the vision of "encouraging and supporting the practice of the profession to provide professional services of high quality, and developing community partnerships to keep pace with the Kingdom's Vision 2030."

    Therefore, the Authority's values - according to Al-Sihani - are "professionalism, transparency, integrity, reliability, excellence", as its role is represented in regulating the profession, through qualifying and training practitioners and approving professional examinations to obtain professional certificates, and increasing community confidence in the profession of accountant and auditing and upgrading them.

    Within this framework, he stated that the Authority provides several tasks that it carries out within the framework of that vision, mission, and goals, which are: “preparing and developing professional standards and rules, monitoring the quality of professional performance through monitoring professional offices, checking the quality of the outputs of professional offices, and setting the appropriate organization for field control.” The third task is professional qualification through professional fellowship tests and training courses in coordination with scientific bodies to develop workers in the auditing accounting profession.​

    Regarding professional exams, he said that the professional certificates offered by the Authority are among the possible tools for gaining knowledge of theoretical and applied knowledge as an effective means of raising the quality of financial information as well as giving the bearer added value in various economic sectors. Accounting Technician (CAT), Value Added Tax (VAT) Specialist, Professional Certificate in Governmental Accounting and Auditing, and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
    The guest of the meeting reviewed the requirements for entering these tests, the materials around which the test is conducted, and what the participants get in the choices.​
